Santa Barbara’s most wanted nabbed in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY — Police arrested Santa Barbara town’s most wanted person on the morning of Sept. 24 at the Ramon Q. Avanceña Hall of Justice in City Proper, Iloilo City.

Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Onik,” 57, a resident of Barangay Café, Santa Barbara, Iloilo.

Intelligence operatives of the Iloilo City Police Station 9 arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant for two counts of rape by carnal knowledge.

Judge Rysty Ann Espinosa Borja of Regional Trial Court Branch 35 in Iloilo City issued the arrest warrant on Sept. 21, 2026.

No bail was recommended for his temporary release.

Police said they monitored the suspect’s fugitive status through the electronic warrant system.

Investigators later learned that the suspect planned to surrender to the court.

The suspect is under the custody of ICPS 9 pending his turnover to the issuing court for proper disposition.

Under Philippine law, rape by carnal knowledge is punishable under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, with penalties depending on the circumstances of the offense.
