Barangay Constancia in the Municipality of San Lorenzo has earned the prestigious Hall of Fame Award as the outstanding barangay tanod in Western Visayas under the 4th to 6th class municipalities category.
The barangay was named the regional winner during the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards and Search for Outstanding Barangay Tanod held at Robinsons Place in Pavia, Iloilo, on October 23, 2024.
This recognition is awarded to barangays that consistently demonstrate excellence in maintaining peace and order through their barangay tanod force, which is responsible for community security and law enforcement at the grassroots level.
Winning this award means Barangay Constancia has claimed the title for three consecutive years, showcasing their commitment to safety, community service, and effective governance.
As the regional champion, the tanods of Barangay Constancia received Php 25,000, a plaque, and a congratulatory banner.
The barangay tanods of Danggalan in Malinao, Aklan, were first runner-up, taking home Php 15,000, a plaque, and a congratulatory banner. Bingawan’s Barangay Poblacion placed second runner-up, receiving Php 10,000, a plaque, and a congratulatory banner.
