BACOLOD City – Personnel of San Enrique Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental are now utilizing their new three-storey police station building that has a project cost of P8.6 million.
Police Colonel Romy Palgue, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), Mayor Jilson Tubillara, and Engr. Lea Delfinado, director of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-6 led the turnover and blessing of the building during the inauguration rites last Saturday.
It was the standard type building for police stations of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
It was funded under the PNP-DPWH Convergence Program FY 2020.
According to Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s information officer, the new police station is situated in a 535 square meter lot donated by the local government unit and the DPWH.
Donasco said it is situated at the back of the municipal hall beside the old police station building.
The construction of the new building started on June 19, 2020, and was completed on January 15, 2021.
Rev. Father Alex Araneta, San Enrique Parish Priest, officiated the blessing of the building.
With the said development, Donasco said the town police force is expected to perform well as they have new facilities.
Donasco said the old police station building will be utilized as offices by the municipal government.
Meanwhile, Donasco said the construction of the new police stations in Hinoba-an town and Sipalay City are also expected to be completed by October or December this year.
