In a statement posted on the Facebook page of the Diocesan Social Communications Office of San Carlos City, Alminaza said that he learned about it on June 20.
He is symptomatic, in stable condition and responding well to treatment. His doctor advised him to have complete rest.
“Rest assured that I am given the best possible medical attention available. We received so much support from all over – both from our government and faith-based groups,” Alminaza said.
Vicar General Msgr. Erwin Magnanao of the diocese temporarily took over Alminaza’s post while he is on isolation.
Alminaza asked for prayers for his fast healing as well as for other COVID-19 patients and the frontliners.
