A victim of purported summary execution was found early morning of March 23 in Tigbauan, Iloilo
Hog-tied with duct tape and with gunshot wounds on the head and shoulder, the body was found at a roadside of Barangay Linobayan, Tigbauan around 6 a.m. on March 23.
Through the identification cards found in the victim’s bag, the victim was identified as Allen Sanchez of Barangay Sto Niño Norte, Arevalo, Iloilo City.
The victim’s landlord, Joemar Bautista, positively identified the body as his tenant.
Sanchez’s family is allegedly staying in Cebu.
According to police, fish vendor Ron-Ron Centino claimed that he was off to work when he found the body.
Minutes after leaving their home, Centino narrated that one of his motorcycle’s tires was deflated.
He said that he was walking back to his house when he saw the body.
Centino said he didn’t check the body and immediately reported what he discovered to a barangay official.
But aside from the two identification cards, the bag also contained three sachets of suspected shabu, a sachet of dried marijuana leaves, drug paraphernalia including a digital weighing scale, and other personal belongings.
Captain Mary Jane Panes, Tigbauan police chief, said they still have no witnesses who can shed light on what happened.
Some residents claimed to have heard gunfire around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
But no one heard or saw any vehicle in the area.
Panes said they’re also checking the victim’s possible involvement in the illegal drug trade.
But a check at the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) revealed that Sanchez was only involved in theft cases.
