ROXAS CITY, Capiz– Lawyers in Capiz are planning to undergo personal safety training following the ambush on human rights lawyer Cris Heredia, her client, and her daughter on Monday at Barangay Malapad Cogon, Sigma, Capiz.
Atty. Remia Fuentes-Bartolome, lntegrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP-Capiz chapter) president, said the incident caused fear to other lawyers in Capiz.
Bartolome said they will ask help from the Capiz Police Provincial Office in holding the personal safety training for the lawyers.
The purpose of the safety training is to prepare lawyers for attacks and other threatening situations.
