ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A tricycle driver classified as a street-level individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation Saturday evening, May 2, in Barangay Punta Tabuc here.
The Roxas City Police Station identified the suspect only as Edmon, 47, a tricycle driver and resident of Barangay 9, Roxas City.
The operation was conducted by the Roxas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Team led by Lt. Loy Jay D. Fantilaga.
Police said the suspect was on the provincial priority target list of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
Recovered from the suspect was a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing 1 gram, with an estimated street value of PHP 6,800.
Police also recovered PHP 5,000 in buy-bust money.
The suspect is under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against him Monday, May 4.
Meanwhile, an inmate detained at the Capiz Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Lawaan here for a separate case was arrested again Friday morning, May 1, by the Ivisan Municipal Police Station for unjust vexation.
Police identified the suspect only as Lando, 69, a farmer and resident of Barangay Mianay, Ivisan, Capiz.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Ramcez John Alamo Honrado, presiding judge of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Dao-Ivisan, Capiz, on Feb. 19, 2026.
The court recommended PHP 5,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
He remains under the custody of the Capiz Rehabilitation Center.
