ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man wanted for robbery was arrested by police late Thursday, May 21, in Barangay Lawaan here.
Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics team of the Roxas City Police Station arrested the suspect, identified only as alias “JohnMel,” 25, of Sitio Tambis, Barangay Tiza, Roxas City, around 11:28 p.m.
Police said the suspect was spotted carrying an instrument allegedly used for entering houses while officers were conducting a roving patrol in Barangay Lawaan.
Police immediately presented the warrant of arrest to the suspect, arrested him, and brought him to the Roxas City Police Station.
The warrant was issued by Judge Raissa Espinosa, presiding judge of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Sixth Judicial Region, Branch 4, Roxas City, on May 19, 2026.
The court recommended bail of PHP 18,000 for his temporary liberty.
He is under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station for proper disposition and court referral.
