ROXAS CITY, Capiz – This city logged its highest number of new COVID-19 cases in a day since the pandemic broke out on June 6, 2021.
Data from the City Health Office (CHO) that 53 new cases were added to the city’s tally which now stands at 1,549.
The cumulative cases include 328 active cases, 1,153 recoveries, and 68 deaths.
The new confirmed cases were from Sitio Tugas, Brgy. San Jose; Sacred Heart Subdivision in Brgy. Mongpong; Sitio Proper, Brgy. Lanot; Severino Subd. on Arnaldo Blvd., Brgy. Baybay; Sitio Nasagud, Brgy. Lanot; St. Joseph Subdivision in Brgy. Tiza; San Lorenzo village in Brgy. Cagay.
Other new confirmed positive cases were from barangays Tanque, Dayao, Banica, Lawaan, VIII, Bago, Inzo Arnaldo, Milibili and V.
Meanwhile, 39 of the 47 barangays of Roxas City have active COVID-19 cases.
Barangay Tiza has the highest number with 40 cases, followed by Barangays Milibili and Baybay with 28 each; 25 in Lanot; 20 in Lawaan; 18 in Inzo; 17 in Mongpong; 15 in Tanque; 14 in Banica; 11 each in Cagay and Punta Tabuc; 10 in San Jose; 9 each in Brgy. 8 and Dayao; 7 each in Bolo, Brgy. 3 and Libas; 6 in Brgy. Bato; 5 each in Dinginan and Culasi, 4 each in Adlawan, Tanza and Gabuan; 3 in Brgy. 5 and Sibaguan; 2 each in Jumaguicjic, Brgys. 7 and 11; one each in Brgys. 1, 2, 5, 9, 10, Cogon, Cabugao, Dumulog, Balijuagan, Olotayan, and Bago.
The COVID-free areas are Brgy. 4, Barra, Culajao, Liong, Loctugan, Lonoy, Punta Cogon, and Talon.
The 328 active cases include 17 health workers, 8 frontliners, and 303 local cases.
