Roxas laborer charged after drug sting

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police on Thursday afternoon, June 18, filed an illegal drug case against a laborer who was arrested in a recent buy-bust operation in Barangay 9 here.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were filed against Anthony Albaladejo, 38, of the said place before the City Prosecutor’s Office here.

RA 9165 is the country’s main law against illegal drugs and covers offenses related to dangerous drugs, including possession and sale.

Police said the suspect tested positive for illegal drug use after undergoing a drug test.

The suspect was arrested after police recovered two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 7 grams, with a standard drug price of PHP 37,600, along with PHP 4,000 in buy-bust money and several non-drug items.

He is under the custody of the Roxas City Police Station for proper disposition.
