ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 35-year-old construction worker from Roxas City was found dead Friday morning, May 29, in Sitio Ilig-Iligan, Barangay Yapak, on Boracay Island.
The victim was identified only as alias “Toto,” of legal age and a resident of Roxas City.
Initial investigation by Scene of the Crime Operatives showed that the victim had a black eye on the left side of his face and bruises on his right shoulder.
A security guard at the barracks said the victim arrived drunk on the evening of May 28 and fell from his bed several times.
Because of his unruly behavior, the victim was told to leave the staff house.
The victim was last seen at about 10:50 p.m. that night.
He was found dead on the road early the next morning.
His body was brought home to Roxas City and will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old laborer was found in an advanced state of decomposition Saturday morning in Barangay Lucero, Jamindan, Capiz.
Police identified the victim only as alias “Jo-Jo,” a resident of the village.
The Jamindan Municipal Police Station said the victim’s cousin found him lying on the ground in a rice field while tending to his carabao.
Reports showed the victim had been on a drinking binge with friends before he was found dead.
Police said the victim had been living alone.
His body was brought to a funeral parlor for proper disposition.
