ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Barangay Lawaan in Roxas City won the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (Component City category) held recently at Manila Hotel.
Punong Barangay Jocelyn Asis and Roxas City DILG Officer Mr. Ginno Salamanca received the trophy and P300,000 cash prize
Barangay Lawaan was one of the three villages in the Component City category that were nominated for the national competition. The other two were Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City (2nd runner-up) and Barangay Upper Katungal, Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat (1st runner-up).
The evaluation was held in 2020.
Lawaan is the second barangay in Roxas City to win the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards.
In 2017 and 2018, Brgy. Milibili under former punong barangay and now Roxas City councilor Midelo Ocampo won the competition in back-to-back fashion.
