ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police seized PHP 374,000 worth of suspected shabu from a high-value individual during a buy-bust operation Thursday afternoon, June 25, in Barangay Tiza.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Lex,” 25, a resident of Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.
Police said the suspect was listed as a priority target.
Recovered from the suspect were seven sachets of suspected shabu weighing 55 grams.
The Roxas City Police Station Drug Enforcement Team also recovered a .38-caliber firearm without a serial number, two live rounds of ammunition, and PHP 3,000 in buy-bust money.
The suspect is in the custody of the Roxas City Police Station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, were filed against him before the City Prosecutor’s Office on Friday morning.
Police said the suspect shouted during his arrest and denied ownership of the recovered items.
He also appealed to authorities not to destroy his future, saying he wanted to finish his studies.
