ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A “street-level individual” (SLI) from Brgy. Tanza was apprehended on the evening of Thursday, March 7, during a drug sting in Brgy. Santa Cruz, Ivisan, Capiz.
The Capiz Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) coordinated the operation with support from the Ivisan, Sigma, and Mambusao Municipal Police Stations, under the leadership of Police Major Ruby C Magallanes, the Ivisan police chief.
Lelard Besa, 30, a jobless single man from Brgy. Tanza, Roxas City, was identified as the suspect.
Police confiscated four sachets containing what is believed to be illegal drugs, weighing 3 grams and valued at the standard drug price of P20,400, alongside P500 used in the buy-bust, a black coin purse, and one Huawei cellphone.
According to Magallanes, Besa had been under surveillance for a month prior to the arrest.
Besa is now detained at the Ivisan Police Station. Legal proceedings for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are underway.
The seized substances are slated for drug testing and forensic analysis at the Capiz Crime Laboratory.
