ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police arrested a 22-year-old man in a drug buy-bust operation Friday afternoon, April 17, on Calipayan Street in Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City.
Authorities identified the suspect only as alias “JB,” a resident of Barangay Lanot, Roxas City.
Recovered from the suspect were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 14 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of PHP95,000.
Police also recovered one Remington .45-caliber pistol, two live rounds of ammunition, and PHP10,000 in marked buy-bust money.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Roxas City police.
Charges for violating Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against him.
The arrest came as Capiz continues to celebrate Capiztahan 2026, with nightly activities being held from April 13 to 19.
Police routinely heighten enforcement during major public events as part of efforts to maintain peace and order and deter criminal activity.
