Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas joined the Capiz clergy and family of Cardinal Jose Advincula, former archbishop of Capiz diocese, during the latter’s installation as Archbishop of Manila on June 24, 2021.
Dadivas said he was honored and privileged to join the installation at Manila Cathedral
He also witnessed the warm welcome from vice Metro Manila mayors who were present in the event – Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso of Manila, Francis Zamora of San Juan, Menchie Abalos of Mandaluyong, Emi Calixto-Rubiano of Pasay, and Mayor Abigail Binay of Makati.

Dadivas said he had mixed feelings with Advincula leaving Roxas City and Capiz to assume his new mission in Manila. But the Capiceño cardinal’s leading the biggest and oldest diocese in the Philippines is also a source of pride for Roxas City and Capiz.
“Lakot nga kasubo kag kalipay ang aton nabatyagan bangud dungan sang iya pagbaton sang bag-o nga responsibilidad, ang Roxas City kag Capiz nadulaan man sang pinalangga naton nga Arsobispo. Apang ini daku nga bugal para sa aton nga kasimanwa ta ang nagapamuno kag magagiya sa pagtuluuhan sang makabig pinakadaku kag pinakatigulang na nga Diocese sa Pilipinas,” he added.

Dadivas said Cardinal Advincula will always remain in hearts of his flock in the city and province.
“Apisar nga siya mapalayo na sa aton apang kita ara guihapon sa iya taguipusuon kag pagpangamuyo dungan sang pasalig nga sa pihak sang tanan indi kita mangin ilo bangud ang pag-ubay sang Diyos ara sa guihapon aton.”
