ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A lack of personnel has slowed the accommodation of clients at the Land Transportation Office in Roxas City.
This was the observation of Atty. Allan Sacramento, acting chief of the LTO in Roxas City, during a press conference held Thursday morning, March 5, at the office of the Philippine Information Agency in Capiz.
He said additional personnel are among the solutions needed to address the increasing number of clients transacting daily.
He said each employee can only accommodate two to three transactions per day.
Another problem he observed is the lack of parking space for vehicles transacting business at the office.
The LTO Roxas City office is in Barangay Tiza near Malipayon Village, where traffic problems have become a headache for residents, commuters and clients because of narrow roads and the volume of vehicles passing through the area.
“Each day, not less than 200 individuals have been transacting in our office for various transactions, the reason why we need additional personnel to cater to them,” he said.
Among the transactions handled by the office are motor vehicle registration and driver’s license applications.
The chief stressed that applicants should pass the written examination, which focuses mainly on traffic laws, safe driving practices and road safety.
He said applicants must also take a practical driving test at an accredited driving school.
Meanwhile, applying for vehicle registration at his office is now easier through the implementation of the Land Transportation Management System.
He said the LTMS is a comprehensive digital platform that aims to streamline licensing and vehicle registration processes.
A native of Tarlac, Sacramento advised clients not to transact with fixers outside the LTO office and instead urged them to directly process their transactions with legitimate personnel, as he denied there was selectivity in serving customers.
Sacramento assumed office on Dec. 22, 2025, after his predecessor retired from the service.
