ROXAS CITY, Capiz – No contraband or illegal drugs were found inside Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facilities here during the conduct of Operation Greyhound or Oplan Galugad Saturday morning.
SJO3 Edilia Fantilaga, deputy chief of the Roxas City BJMP, said only “minor, harmless” were found and confiscated inside the jail facilities.
Among the prohibited items recovered in the prison cells were ballpens, pencils, combs, wiring and cord, calculator, cellphone, playing cards, lighter, and toothbrush.
Fantilaga said toothbrushes are not prohibited inside the cells.
She said that jail guards usually checked the items brought by the families to the detainees.
The BJMP Roxas City has 265 detainees, including 182 (68.8 percent) facing illegal drugs cases.
