ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 61-year-old employee of the Roxas City government died Sunday afternoon from coronavirus disease 20219 (COVID-19).
The fatality was assigned to the City Agriculture’s Office and a resident of Sito Pagutok Brgy. Dayao here.
He is the 40th persons to die from the disease here.
At present, Roxas City has 33 active cases, 679 recoveries and 40 deaths.
Based on the data released by Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, the active cases are in barangays Tiza (9), Brgy. 1 (8), Baybay (3), Milibili (3), Cagay (2), Lawaan (2), Adlawan (1), Barra (1), Mongpong (1), Punta Tabuc (1), and Brgy. VII (1).
Dadivas advised the public not to be complacent and to always observe health protocols.
He also asked the public to stay home and avoid crowded places and large gatherings.
He also reiterated the wearing of 3-ply face masks and face shields and regular washing of hands.
The mayor said the city government has an Online Consultation at the Roxas City Health Office E-Consulta Facebook Page or any person can contact 0921 976 8315 for consultation if they have symptoms.
He also urged the residents not to be afraid to be vaccinated as this is one way to slow down the spread of the virus.
