Roxas City fire destroys P700K worth of property

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Around P700,000 worth of properties were destroyed after a boarding house and a repair shop were razed by fire Tuesday morning, July 9, at Km. 1 in Brgy. 10.
The Roxas City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has yet to determine the cause of the fire that destroyed the Tinsay family’s boarding house. The fire also gutted the Bartolo family’s repair shop, located adjacent to the boarding house.
Arson investigators estimated the damages to the boarding house at P200,000, while the repair shop sustained P500,000 in damages.
Fire Officer 1 Reymond Dela Cruz of the Roxas City Fire Station said the fire started around 4 a.m. and was declared out at 5:15 a.m.
No injuries were reported, as all eight boarders managed to escape before the fire spread.
