ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A member of the Sanggunian Panlungsod here was elected president of Philippine Councilors League (PCL)-Capiz Chapter on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 202 at Kapis Mansion, Barangay Banica here.
City Councilor Paul lvan Baticados was proclaimed the new president of PCL-Capiz Chapter for the year 2022-2025.
It will be the first time that a city councilor from this component city was elected to the position.
Baticados will assume the post vacated by past interim president Catherine San Antonio of Ivisan as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Capiz.
174 PCL-Capiz members participated in the elections. The winners ran unopposed.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas hailed Baticado’s historic election.
“Bugal sang Roxas City nga sa labing-una nga tion taga diri sa aton ang napili nga magapanguna sa 174 tanan ka katapo sang PCL-Capiz nga nangin isa na bangud sa alyansa sang Partido Liberal kag Lakas,” Dadivas said.
The mayor said he believes that Baticados will work for the good of the PCL and their constituents.
