Roxas City administrator now heads GSO

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Roxas City Administrator Lorie Belle “Love” O. Usison was appointed chief of the City General Services Office (CGSO).

This, after the Sanggunian Panlungsod (SP) confirmed Usison’s appointment during its regular session on Tuesday.

Marlyn Albaran, Human Resource Office head of the city government, answered queries from SP members regarding her qualifications.

According to Albaran, Usison is highly qualified to the position as she served the government for 22 years.

She clarified that there is no double compensation that will happen because Usison was merely an acting city administrator, which is co-terminus with the mayor’s term.

Albaran said the appointment of Usison was based on the law and that no other person applied for the position.

Jeric Andama will serve as the assistant CGSO chief.

Prior to her appointment as acting city administrator, Usison was a municipal department head of Ivisan as Public Information Officer with supervisory position.

Occupying two positions is considered advantageous to the government because she is claiming only one salary, Albaran added.

City Councilor Atty. Paul Baticados said there were a lot of requirements from the Civil Service Commission and Local Government Code before a person could be appointed to the position in the government.
