ROXAS CITY, Capiz – This capital city and six other towns of Capiz got high compliance performance in the road clearing operations mandated by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Roxas City under Mayor Ronnie Dadivas got a 92.86% rating based on the result of the good flow of traffic at the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC), Burgos talipapa on Burgos Street, and some of the villages.
Dadivas thanked the cooperation, sacrifice, and understanding of the people in the implementation of the road clearing directive.
He also thanked the RESET Team, Traffic Management Unit (TMU), City Engineer’s Office, Roxas City Communication Group (RCCG), Traffic Enforcers, Department of Interior and Local Government and the police.
Meanwhile, the towns of Cuartero, President Roxas, Pilar, Sapian, Sigma and Tapaz also got high compliance performance ratings.
On the other hand, a total of 6,899 roads nationwide have been cleared during the government-ordered 60-day clearing operations, the DILG reported Friday.
DILG Secretary Eduardo Año bared this during a press conference in Quezon City, saying the reported number of cleared roads was from 1,246 local government units
Out of the 1,246 LGUs nationwide passed the DILG validation for road clearing operations. These were then ranked as either high, medium or low compliance.
1 28 LGUs were also recognized as having high compliance rating. 497 local governments were given medium compliance rating, and 323 were classified as having low compliance ratings.
However, some 98 local government units did not get compliance ratings, which mean they had failed to comply with the road clearing order.
The LGUs which did not get compliance ratings, Año said, will be given show-cause orders and will be made to explain their failure to comply with the government order.
“These LGUs are given five days from receipt of the show-cause orders for them to explain the non-compliance or underperformance,” Año said.
