Rotary Club, Robinsons Bacolod mark 26th ‘Wish Upon a Star’

BACOLOD CITY – The Rotary Club of Bacolod and Robinsons Place Bacolod celebrated the 26th annual “Wish Upon a Star” on Dec. 14, 2024, at the Robinsons Place Bacolod Main Atrium.
The annual benefit activity, held in partnership with donor-partners, brought joy to 150 indigent children from selected Aeta and coastal communities in Isabela, Negros Occidental, as well as Barangays 1, 13, and 14 in Bacolod City and Suntown Camp.
Children were treated to gift-giving, entertainment, and meals, sharing the spirit of Christmas.
The event was led by Rotary Club of Bacolod President Marjorie Dino, with assistance from Bacolod City Vice Mayor and Past President El Cid Familiaran.
This year’s organizing committee was chaired by Rotarian Tanya Familiaran, with support from Rotarians Dexter Telis and Juliana Louise Llaguno.
Other key attendees included Incoming President Amelyn Bravo, Past President and Secretary Frederick Anthony de Leon, Past Presidents Pauline Cuaycong and Richard Paul Salem, Club Director Jet Garbiel Pili, Assistant Secretary Emily Therese Cuaycong, Assistant Treasurer Aileen Palma, Assistant Director Bea Gilbor, and Rotarians Charles Dino, Sam Solon, Michael Gaerlan, Kenbe Yeung, Errol Arroyo, Clyde de Guzman, Hana Isabella Hautea, Jeannie Buan, and Jonathan Flores.
Boys and Girls Week officials, led by Girl Mayor Libby Tangco and City Councilors, also joined the activity.
Robinsons Place Bacolod was represented by Mall Operations Manager Mary Jo San Marte, Marketing Manager Krista Anne Lapore, and Charina Puentebella.
The event was hosted by Gay Marie Tiu.
The Rotary Club of Bacolod and Robinsons Place Bacolod expressed gratitude for the support of volunteers, gift sponsors, and benefactors who made the event possible.
The “Wish Upon a Star” celebration has been a cherished tradition for 26 years, fostering the spirit of giving, love, and sharing in the community.
