Rotary Boosts PRC Iloilo Operations with New Vehicles

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Iloilo Chapter marked a significant milestone during its 15th Chapter Assembly on November 16 with the ceremonial turnover of two essential vehicles to enhance its operations and services.

The Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, through a Global Grant, donated a Hyundai Blood Mobile Coaster to bolster PRC Iloilo’s capacity for blood donation drives. Meanwhile, Avescor Motors, in partnership with the Tiu Cho Teg-Ana Ros Foundation, provided a Fuso Transport Minibus to improve logistics and mobility.

These donations highlight the strong collaboration between PRC Iloilo and its partners in delivering effective humanitarian services across the region.

Michael Ho, president of the Rotary Club of Metro Iloilo, underscored the shared purpose behind the initiative.

“Our objective is to advance the means and address the needs of our community. We hope these vehicles will significantly enhance PRC Iloilo’s ability to serve,” he said.

Guest of Honor Dr. Gwendolyn Pang, Secretary General of PRC National Headquarters, commended the Iloilo Chapter for its exemplary performance, describing it as a model for other chapters.

“The Iloilo Chapter has proven its dedication as the No. 1 blood center outside Manila, achieving 116% of its target with 30,000 blood bags collected. This mobile blood donation project is a remarkable initiative that other chapters should emulate,” she said.

The event also included the election of a new Board of Directors, led by NOMELEC Chairman Dir. Asuncion Faro.

Dr. Ronnie Gabalda, PRC Iloilo Vice Chairman, welcomed attendees, while Chairman Ramon Cua Locsin presented the chapter’s accomplishments in his report.
