Robinsons malls earn DENR honors for green action

Robinsons Roxas and Robinsons Antique were recognized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 6 for their partnership and contributions to environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The recognition was presented during the Gawad Kaagapay ng Kalikasan 2026 ceremony, which was held as part of the Philippine Environment Month 2026 celebration.

The awards highlighted the malls’ continued support for DENR programs, including the Adopt-an-Estero/Water Body Program, which promotes cleaner waterways, responsible waste management and community participation in environmental protection.

Established in 2010, the program brings together communities, private-sector partners, local governments, other government agencies and the DENR to clean and rehabilitate rivers, creeks, esteros and other waterways.

Robinsons Malls integrates sustainability into the design, operation and management of its developments nationwide.

Its initiatives include renewable energy adoption, resource-efficient operations, responsible waste management, green mobility and community-based environmental programs.

The company said these efforts are intended to build resilient developments that create lasting environmental, social and economic value.

The initiatives also support Robinsons Malls’ broader commitment to improving lives while contributing to the country’s sustainability goals.

Robinsons Antique conducts quarterly cleanup activities along its adopted section of the NAIA Canal in Sibalom, Antique, under the Adopt-an-Estero/Water Body Program.

Volunteers from its operations, security, engineering, housekeeping and Robinsons Land teams remove debris and segregate recyclable materials for proper processing.

They also clear overgrown vegetation to help reduce mosquito breeding sites and promote cleaner waterways and healthier communities.

Robinsons Roxas, meanwhile, regularly participates in DENR-led cleanup drives, tree-growing activities and responsible waste management programs.

The mall also serves as a venue for environmental advocacy, public information campaigns and community engagement activities.

The recognitions reaffirm Robinsons Malls’ commitment to environmental stewardship and partnerships that create an impact beyond its commercial developments.

Robinsons Malls said it would continue working with government agencies, local stakeholders and community partners to help build cleaner, greener and more resilient communities for future generations.
