Robbery suspect caught for illegal drug ‘peddling’

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A man linked to a series of robbery incidents was arrested Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 17, in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by police at Sitio Caduulan in Barangay Banica here.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Nonoy,” 22, a high value individual and resident of Legaspi Ilaya here.
He was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and Roxas City PNP.
Recovered from the suspect were six plastic sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 88,400.
Banica Punong Barangay Mike Xander Agrasada confirmed that the suspect was his constituent and had been on the drug watch list of the Barangay Against Drug Abuse Council in the barangay.
He said he had called the suspect’s attention regarding his illegal activities but he kept ignoring this.
Agrasada said the suspect was involved in a robbery incident at a convenience store and the loss of a helmet.
The suspect is presently in the custody of Roxas City PNP while charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have been prepared against him.
