Robbery suspect arrested in Roxas City gun bust

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A man involved in a series of robbery incidents was finally arrested on Wednesday evening, September 25, in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Roxas City Police in Barangay V.
Police identified the suspect as Santos Manikan, alias “Palos,” 21, a resident of Barangay V, Roxas City.
The operation, conducted around 11:30 p.m., involved a police poseur-buyer who transacted with the suspect.
Authorities recovered a .357 caliber revolver, three live rounds of ammunition, and PHP5,000 in buy-bust money from Manikan.
The suspect is currently in the custody of the Roxas City Police Station, and charges for violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, are being prepared against him.
According to police records, Manikan had previously evaded arrest during earlier attempts by local authorities due to his involvement in illegal activities.
He earned the nickname “Palos” for his ability to slip away from police capture.
