ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police believe that robbery might be behind the death of a farmer who was found bathed in his own blood Tuesday morning in Sigma, Capiz.
Vergillio Calipayan Surallo of Sitio Ilawod, Barangay Parian Sigma was believed to have been killed Monday night before he was found by his son Raymund Tuesday morning.
Raymund said he brought his father to the town hall on board his tricycle to get his P1,500 senior citizen pension.
He said his father did not drink liquor at that time as he did not see his friends and drinking buddies in his house.
The victim lived alone in his house which is about 500 meters away from Raymund’s place.
The son said the victim had no criminal records in their village and the police station.
Meanwhile, police have persons of interest in Surallo’s death.
The victim’s money was missing, and investigators believe that the suspects took it away.
Surallo suffered hack wounds in the mouth, face, ear, and other parts of the body.
