Robbers cart away 6,000 chickens from poultry farm

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Twenty unidentified persons swooped down on a poultry farm owned by a businessman and took away some 6,000 live chickens worth P700,000 over the weekend at Sitio Magalan, Barangay Sagrada Familia in Dumarao, Capiz.
Police investigation indicated that some of the robbers tied up poultry farm watchman Jay-Ar Detorio, 25, evening of Aug 30, 2019 while others loaded the chickens on two trucks.
The watchman, who was unharmed after the robbery, was sleeping at the guardhouse quarter when the masked suspects arrived.
It was the poultry farm manager who found Detorio the following day. He immediately reported the incident to the village officials and to the police.
Police are investigating the incident.
