ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The 23-year-old man who was mobbed for attacking and robbing an elderly woman Wednesday afternoon at Brgy. Banica here is facing a string of charges.
Gemma Alimonsurin said their family is contemplating charges against Joel Codilla of Kataingan village in Masbate for pummeling the head of Anita Adorio, 60, at Banica wharf.
Codilla, who suffered bruises after several residents mauled him, was staying at the house of Adorico while waiting for a chance to go home in Masbate. He was even given food by the victim.
Despite the kindness afforded to him, Codilla had the audacity to hurt the victim, Alimonsurin said.
Meanwhile, Codilla has apologized to the victim and the family for what he had done. He said he committed the crime as he has not eaten food for two days.
He also needs money for his travel back to Masbate the reason why he snatched the sling bag containing cash owned by the victim.
