Road clearing resumes in Roxas City today

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The city government resumes road clearing operations today, January 18, 2021 around the city proper area.
The Road Clearing Task Force is headed by the Engineer’s Office, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Roxas City Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection – Roxas City Fire Station, City Health Office, Traffic Management Unit (TMU), the City Disaster Risk Reduction Office (CDRRMO) and other agencies.
According to City Engineer Noel Laminares, operations will focus on Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC), Burgos Talipapa, Roxas Avenue, and other areas where traffic jams always occur.
Last week, Roxas City Councilor Midelo Ocampo, chairperson of the Sanggunian Panlungsod (SP) Committee on Infrastructure, asked for the cooperation of the public with the operations.
Ocampo confirmed that the operations of the Roxas City Road Clearing Task Force will be in accordance with the policy established by the national government.
The city government conducted information drives to inform the public and the business sector of the operations which started a year ago.
Ocampo said the operation will focus on sidewalk obstructions and illegally parked vehicles.
