ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The city government will conduct road clearing operations on Monday, January 18, around the city proper.
Roxas City Councilor Midelo Ocampo, chairperson of the Sanggunian Panlungsod (SP) Committee on Infrastructure, asked the cooperation of the public with the operations which will be undertaken by a task force.
Ocampo confirmed that the operations of the Roxas City Road Clearing Task Force will be in accordance with the policy established by the national government.
But before the actual operation next week, the city government will conduct information drive to inform the public and the business sector about the policy which was already implemented few years ago.
Ocampo said the operation will focus on sidewalk obstructions and illegally parked vehicles.
The task force is composed of the City Engineers office, Business Permit and Licensing Office, PNP and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
On the part of the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC), the city’s premier market, Ocampo said that the task force will give the power to the Roxas City Environmental Sanitation and Enforcement Team led by Primo Golingay, for the implementation of sidewalk clearing around the market.
The task force has a towing vehicle that will tow illegal vehicles parked along roads.
