BACOLOD City – A man was shot to death by two unidentified persons on a motorcycle at Barangay Concepcion, Talisay City, Negros Occidental Thursday morning.
Killed was Ronald Nicavera, 38, of the said village.
Police Staff Master Sergeant Pastor Antonio Celajes, investigator, said the victim was riding a motorcycle on his way home after sending his daughter to school past 7 a.m. when he was shot.
Nicavera succumbed to two gunshout wounds on his chest and another gunshot wound on his head.
Police recovered three fired bullets and a slug of .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.
Prior to the incident, one of the two perpetrators was seen buying at a nearby store while the other was pretending to fix his motorcycle.
When the victim passed by the area, the gunman then suddenly fired a gun at him while his companion served as lookout. They then both fled.
The suspects probably monitored the victim’s routine before committing the crime, Celajes said.
Celajes said they have yet to determine the motive because the victim has no records in the barangay or the police.
His family also said that they have not known any conflict involving the victim, he added.
Celajes said they are coordinating with Police Station 2 here if the incident is related to the killing of his younger brother last month.
Nicavera’s younger brother, Ronilo Jr., 36, of Barangay Dulao, Bago City, was found dead inside a passenger jeepney at Barangay 2 here on May 27.
Celajes said they will conduct cross matching of the recovered fired bullets in both incidents to determine if same perpetrators committed the crime.
