Riding-in-tandem gunmen kill pedicab driver in Iloilo City

Riding-in-tandem gunmen struck anew in Iloilo City, this time killing a pedicab driver afternoon of Oct 13, 2020 in Lapuz, Iloilo City.

Police identified the victim as Dondi Colombres, 42, of Barangay Rizal, Lapuz.

Major Edsel Balibadlan, La Paz police chief, said the victim was plying his pedicab around 3:30 pm Wednesday when he was shot dead.

He was waiting for a passenger to alight when a gunman approached and shot him.

Witnesses claimed that the suspects tailed the victim from the pedicab parking area before shooting him in the head.

An empty shell of a caliber .45 ammunition was recovered from the crime scene.

Balibadlan said the victim had been charged for theft and robbery cases.

Colombres had been incarcerated for several times already but he was not involved in illegal drugs.

Balibadlan said investigation is still going on to identify the suspect and establish the motive of the incident.
