BACOLOD City- Members of the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod here is asking the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) and/or the Department of Justice (DOJ) to review the joint venture contracts entered into by the Bacolod City Water District with private water concessionaires.
The call is contained in a resolution authored by Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr. and approved by the SP.
The resolution said both government agencies should also check on the joint contract that Baciwa intends to forge with private water concessionaires.
Gamboa said Baciwa, a government owned and controlled corporation, is imbued with public interest.
He also cited that during the 36th Cabinet meeting at Malacanang last April 1, 2019, President Duterte directed the OSG and the DOJ to check and review all contracts entered into with private water concessionaires and remove onerous provisions that might be detrimental to the lives of Filipinos.
