A retired policeman remains at large after he fired his gun that hit his drinking buddy evening of Dec 24, 2022 in Roxas City, Capiz.
Police have yet to receive surrender feelers from Ely Delmoro, a resident of Sitio Fatima, Barangay Milibili, Roxas City since the incident happened.
According to reports, an argument sparked between Delmoro and Raymundo Bacuna, 50, of Sitio Sumiga, Barangay Milibili while they were on a drinking spree.
Lieutenant Colonel Aron Palomo, Roxas City police chief, said the retired cop apparently got irked when Bacuna went unruly.
Delmoro pulled his gun and fired it to the ground, but the bullet hit Bacuna’s right foot.
“We believed that it was his intention to fire a warning shot, but it accidentally hit the victim,” he said.
Bacuna was rushed to Capiz Emmanuel Hospital for treatment while the suspect immediately fled after the incident.
Palomo said they would file a case for frustrated homicide against Delmoro.
Two weeks ago, another shooting episode was also recorded at Milibili village.
The incident claimed the life of Ronie Acta, 41, of Sitio Pamongbongan, Barangay Milibili.
A murder charge was already against suspect Steven Alloc.
