BACOLOD CITY — A retired police officer wanted for rape charges was arrested in Barangay Cabug last Friday.
Police Captain Michael Tuburan, head of Police Station 9, said the Counter Intelligence Division – Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (CID-IMEG) coordinated with them to serve an arrest warrant for 13 counts of rape and acts of lasciviousness against the 78-year-old suspect, who was staying at his family’s house here.
The arrest warrant, with no bail recommended, was issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 68 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, on July 19, 2006.
Tuburan said the suspect, formerly a Senior Police Officer 3 (SPO3) assigned in Pangasinan, retired from the police service in 2002.
Tuburan added that the crime was allegedly committed after the suspect’s retirement, reportedly victimizing his stepdaughter.
The suspect will be transported back to Pangasinan.
