A retired Philippine Army member was gunned down Monday in Roxas City, Capiz.
Fifty-four-year old Joniffer Borda, who worked as a supervisor of Gold Flow Security Agency and resident of Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City, was shot several times while on his motorcycle at Barangay Bolo.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Jr., Roxas City police chief, said the victim came from a bank and withdrew around P100,000 for the salaries of the security agency’s employees when the incident happened.
Riding-in-tandem gunmen tailed and shot the victim.
Witnesses told police investigators that the two suspects were on board a black and red Honda TMX 155 motorcycle.
The suspects immediately fled after taking the suspect’s cash-laden bag.
Borda was rushed to Capiz Doctors’ Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The suspects are still unidentified, but investigators are not discounting the possibility of an “inside job.”
