In the month of October 2025, the whole nation had been celebrating the 36th National Statistics Month (NSM). The theme of the 36th NSM celebration was “Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All.” In connection with this celebration, contests were conducted and the following are the winners from government agencies, state universities, local colleges, high schools, and local government units (LGUs).
In the E-Poster Making Contest for high school students organized by the UPV Statistical Society, the 1st place winner was Oton National High School, the 2nd place was Regional Science High School, and the 3rd place was Trinidad V. Canja – Sta. Teresa National High School, Jordan, Guimaras.
Likewise, the ReelTistika: Real Numbers in Reel Lives was organized by the UPV Statistical Society. In this contest, the 1st place winner was Oton National High School and the 2nd place was Iloilo City National High School. Also, Iloilo City National High School was adjudged as Most Reacted.
In the Photography Contest organized by the University of San Agustin (USA), Iloilo Science and Technology University bagged the 1st place, followed by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office VI as 2nd place, and Central Philippine University as 3rd place. The entry of Northern Iloilo State University was adjudged as Most Reacted.
The 18th Statistical Analysis Contest for college students was organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI (CHEDRO VI). In this contest, Northern Iloilo State University – Ajuy Campus bagged the 1st place, followed by West Visayas State University – Main Campus as 2nd place and Passi City College as 3rd place.
In the Statistical Infomercial Contest organized by West Visayas State University (WVSU), the Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI) bagged the 1st place, followed by the Department of Trade and Industry Region VI (DTI VI) as 2nd place and the Philippine Statistics Authority Iloilo as 3rd place. The Most Reacted entry was from ISAT University – Miagao Campus. Furthermore, the ISAT University – Miagao Campus entry was adjudged Most Viewed.
The Statistical Infographics Contest was organized by the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc., Region VI Chapter (PSAI 6). The Department of Trade and Industry Region VI (DTI VI) was the 1st place winner, followed by the Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI) as 2nd place and West Visayas State University as 3rd place. Likewise, the entry of West Visayas State University was adjudged as Most Reacted.
The Regional Statistics Quiz for junior high school students, conducted on October 16, 2025, at RDC Hall, DEPDev VI, was organized by the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development VI (DEPDev VI). The Philippine Science High School – Western Visayas Campus was the 1st place winner, followed by Capiz National High School as 2nd place and Cabatuan National Comprehensive High School as 3rd place.
The Inter-University Chess Competition was organized by DEPDev VI on October 24, 2025, at Robinsons Place Pavia. The Western Institute of Technology bagged the 1st place, followed by the University of Antique as 2nd place and Northern Iloilo State University as 3rd place.
Winners of other competitions are Provincial Statistics Committee Guimaras as Best PSC Award; Philippine Statistics Authority Regional Statistical Services Office VI (PSA RSSO VI) as Best RSC Logo; and West Visayas State University as the Best NSM Agency.
