Remorseful nephew who killed uncle faces murder raps

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Murder charges are being readied against a 39-year-old farmer who pummeled to death his uncle in Barangay Malapad Cogon, Sigma, Capiz.
Lony Olithao said that he did not intend to kill his uncle Digno Olithao, 53, a barangay tanod or village watchman.
The suspect has asked forgiveness from their family over the incident.
Digno’s family has decided to file murder charges against the suspect.
Investigation by Sigma PNP indicated that Digno was walking with his friend Nestor Duron around 4:20pm when he figured in an argument with Lony that led to a fistfight.
Lony then picked up a rock and bashed his uncle’s head.
Digno was taken by the Sigma Response Team (SRT) to Senator Gerardo Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao, Capiz but he was declared dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending physician.
Digno and Lony where drunk during the incident.
Police are eyeing old grudges as the motive for the incident.
Lony is now detained at the police station after he voluntarily surrendered to the police.
Based on the autopsy results, the main vein in the victim’s head burst and his skull was cracked, which led to blood clotting.
