Remaining two suspects in gas station robbery fall

The two remaining suspects who raided the office of a fuel station on Tuesday were separately arrested.

Members of Iloilo City Police Station 4 arrested Mark Galvez, a resident of Barangay West Habog-Habog, Molo district, at Barangay San Pedro, Molo around 6:30 p.m. of Thursday.

Hours later, members of ICPS 3 picked up Christopher Argonsula at the Dumangas wharf.

Captain Eduardo Siacon, ICPS3 chief, said Galvez was monitored to have sought refuge in Passi City, Iloilo following the burglary.

But it appeared that he went to Antique province before getting back to Molo.

On the other hand, Argonsula went to Silay City, Negros Occidental to attend a fiesta.

The first arrested suspect, 24-year-old Briant Naya, was collared at his home in Barangay West Habog-Habog on June 9.

Police also seized four sachets of suspected shabu, cash, and a motorcycle from Naya’s possession.

Siacon noted that around P240,000 in cash were taken from the suspects – P60,000 from Naya, P80,050 from Galvez, and P100,000 from Argonsula.

Police also took Argonsula’s newly bought motorcycle worth P114,000.

Siacon said they have yet to determine how much each suspect got.

Naya claimed to have received a P300,000 share after looting the office of Jetti Gasoline Station at Barangay Tabuc Suba, Jaro around 2:20 a.m. of June 7.

The gas station management initially declared to have lost P1.6 million in cash.

But Siacon said the firm submitted a report signed by a third-party accountant declaring that it lost P1.9 million.

As this developed, all three suspects would be charged for robbery while Naya would also face a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
