Operatives from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6, the Janiuay Municipal Police Station, the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office–Provincial Intelligence Unit carried out the operation.
Police said Romil was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant for rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A, paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
He is being held at the Janiuay Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition.
Meanwhile, another fugitive on the region’s most wanted list was arrested on Tuesday.
Alias Chris, 26, a construction worker from Lemery, Iloilo, was apprehended around 11:23 a.m. in Barangay Poblacion South East, Lemery.
He was wanted for attempted murder under Article 248 in relation to Articles 6 and 51 of the Revised Penal Code.
The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, on November 6, 2025.
Bail was set at PHP 120,000 for his provisional release.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the Lemery Municipal Police Station, together with the Regional Intelligence Unit 6, the IPPO–Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company.
Police identified Chris as the fourth most wanted person in Western Visayas, eighth in Iloilo province, and seventh in Lemery town.
Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, Western Visayas police chief, said the arrests reflected the Police Regional Office 6’s commitment to ensuring that individuals with outstanding warrants are held accountable.
“This is another step toward safeguarding our communities. We continue to stand firm in our commitment to pursue and apprehend individuals wanted for serious offenses. Let us maintain our cooperation in building a peaceful and orderly Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting law enforcement by providing information that could lead to the capture of other wanted individuals.
