The No. 1 most wanted person of Western Visayas was arrested Sept 27, 2022 at Barangay Abaca, Tobias Fornier, Antique.
Jairos Osuyos Jr., 34, of Barangay Atabay, Tobias Fornier, is facing rape complaints.
The Tobias Fornier Municipal Police Station, Antique Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Team, Antique Maritime Police Station, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Regional Intelligence Division (RID)-6 served the warrants of arrest against Osuyos.
He was accused of violating Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code as amended by Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) docketed as Criminal Case Numbers 2022-09-10263 and 10264.
Judge Ernesto Abijay Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 10 in San Jose, Antique issued the arrest warrant on Sept. 21, 2022.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
According to reports, Osuyos allegedly molested a 13-year-old girl sometime in August 2021.
The suspect and his wife allegedly recruited the girl to work for them as a house help last year.
The sexual assault allegedly happened on occasions when the suspect’s wife was not home.
Meanwhile, General Leo Francisco, Western Visayas police chief, lauded the operatives for successfully arresting the suspect.
“I already instructed all unit commanders in the region to go after all wanted persons in our area of responsibility, we will not allow criminals to roam around and give them chances to launch their nefarious activities,” he said.
Francisco vowed that they would be steadfast in their mission to account for wanted persons to ensure a safe and orderly community for the people of Western Visayas.
