Police in Aklan arrested the region’s No. 4 most wanted person on September 2, 2025, in Barangay Poblacion, Makato, Aklan.
Operatives from the Makato Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the Aklan Police Provincial Office, apprehended the suspect at around 11:50 a.m. during the enforcement of a court-issued arrest warrant.
The suspect, known by the alias “Jo,” is a 31-year-old male butcher and resident of Makato, Aklan.
He is facing three counts of rape under Article 266-A (1) in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 11648.
Aside from being ranked fourth on the regional most wanted list, he is also ranked second in Aklan province and third in the municipality of Makato.
The arrest warrant was issued by Branch 3 of the 6th Judicial Region in Kalibo, Aklan, on August 28, 2025, with no bail recommended.
Police Regional Office 6 Director PBGEN Jose Dino Ligan commended the arresting officers for their commitment and persistence.
“I truly commend the efforts of our men on the ground for relentlessly pursuing this lawless element to bring justice to their victims,” said Ligan.
“To the community, rest assured that the Police Regional Office 6 remains steadfast in upholding the law and ensuring that Western Visayas is a safer place to live, work, and do business,” he added.
The suspect was taken to Makato MPS for documentation and will be turned over to the appropriate court for legal proceedings.
