One of the most wanted persons in Western Visayas was arrested in a police manhunt operation in Calinog, Iloilo on the morning of Feb. 17.
Alias JM, 25, was cornered at his house in Barangay Alibunan, Calinog, Iloilo.
The tracker team of Calinog Municipal Police Station collared the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for six counts of rape by carnal knowledge.
The presiding judge of the 6th Regional Trial Court, Branch 76, Janiuay, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Nov. 11, 2024.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
JM is listed as the eighth most wanted person in the region.
Major Myles Dieron, Calinog police chief, said the suspect left the area after allegedly committing the crime.
But police later monitored that he had returned to Calinog.
The complainant was reportedly of legal age and also lives in Calinog town.
JM is now in the custody of Calinog Municipal Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
