One of Western Visayas’ most wanted persons was arrested in Batad, Iloilo, on the afternoon of Jan. 9.
The suspect, alias “Nonoy,” 26, was apprehended at his residence in Purok National, Barangay Batad Viejo, Batad, Iloilo.
Members of the Balasan Municipal Police Station served the arrest warrant for three counts of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A (1) in relation to Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code as amended.
The charges are docketed as Criminal Case Numbers 2024-12044, 2024-12045, and 2024-12046.
The Regional Trial Court 6 (RTC-6) Branch 70 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, issued the arrest warrant on Jan. 2, 2025.
No bail was recommended for the suspect’s temporary release.
The suspect is ranked third on Western Visayas’ most wanted list.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, said the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) remains committed to apprehending wanted individuals despite its role in ensuring security for the upcoming midterm elections.
Razalan emphasized that the IPPO will continue its efforts to protect the rights and dignity of victims while holding those accused of heinous crimes accountable.
