ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Authorities arrested a man ranked among the top 10 most wanted at the regional level on Thursday evening, April 11, in Brgy. Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz.
Tapaz police executed the arrest warrant at 8:05 p.m. for ‘Tonyo,’ 53, from Brgy. Taslan of the same town.
Facing two counts of qualified rape, the suspect appeared before Regional Trial Court Judge Rommel Lacson Leonor of Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz. The arrest warrant was issued on the day of his capture.
The court has denied bail.
He is now detained at the Tapaz Municipal Police Station awaiting further proceedings.
Ranked in Region 6’s top 10 most wanted for his crimes, the suspect had previously fled upon learning that his victim had filed a case against him.
