Singapore’s rising pop star Regina Song has released her latest EP the gates, a moody, heartfelt project that marks the close of one chapter and the quiet beginning of another.
The four-track EP includes her 2025 singles Fairy, Love me again, and Before i leave, along with a brand-new single titled Midsummer Mansion.
Described as a “final embrace of melancholy,” the EP explores themes of long-distance heartbreak, faded love, and the struggle to stay emotionally grounded.
Midsummer Mansion, the new lead single, paints an evocative portrait of a love stretched across time zones—its hopefulness trapped in an imaginary, haunting mansion of dreams and what-ifs.
“I’ll see you next vacation if we even make it / till then I’ll be saying I miss you,” Regina sings in what may be her most vulnerable release yet.
The EP captures Regina’s internal conflict with love, as she grapples with the version of herself who once believed so purely in it.
“It grew harder to remember the girl she once was—a true fangirl of love,” the press release notes, as Regina acknowledges how pretending to stay cheerful for others began to feel dishonest.

Still, she believes the girl who loved deeply remains within her, “quietly waiting to be revived.”
Regina, now 21, first broke through with her 2024 debut album fangirl, which launched her into the spotlight as one of Asia’s fastest rising pop acts.
Her breakout single the cutest pair earned over 53 million streams on Spotify and has been featured in more than 88,000 TikTok videos.
Since then, she has performed at major venues and events in Singapore, including Let’s Celebrate 2025, Singapore Night Fest, Esplanade Red Dot, and SCAPE Music Day Out.
She has also opened for international acts like Filipino-Australian singer grentperez and British-Canadian artist Matt Maltese.
In January 2025, Regina embarked on her first Southeast Asian tour, playing sold-out shows in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila.
She also appeared at top regional music festivals such as Wanderland Festival and Lalala Festival.
With the gates closing on one emotional journey, fans now look forward to Regina’s next artistic chapter as she readies her sophomore album for early 2026.
