BACOLOD City – The Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU)-6 seized about 400 grams of suspected marijuana worth P48,000 in a buy-bust at Purok Tuna, Barangay 1, Bacolod City last Wednesday.
Police Major Sherlocak Gabana, head of Police Station 2, said five persons were caught during the operation but only one of them was arrested.
Gabana said Gideon Ulysis Nava, 21, of the said village was arrested being the target of the operation while four others, who were reportedly visiting the place, were not apprehended by the police.
Police recovered from Nava a big stalk and 32 sachets of suspected marijuana.
The operation was conducted after they saw Nava’s post on social media regarding an event at the said place.
Gabana said the place is somehow isolated, though it has a coffee shop and can also be a venue for billiards.
“It is not open for public. Puwede ka lang ka sulod kung may transaction ka guro,” the station commander said.
Nava, who is detained at the police station, will be charged for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs.
